HackaDEV Social Innovation Challenge

HackaDEV is organized by Ministry of Digital and Infrastructure and Information Technology, UNDP, ICTA and National Youth Services Council.It grabs all the keen social innovations teams and help them to achieve their target of solving an issue in the society.
The process of HackaDEV is,

1. Apply for HackaDEV Challenge
• There , the teams have to have good proposal of what they are going to build or invent.
• The challenge is consist of 2 areas as Open and Thematic challenge.
• Thematic challenge problems are published in the hackaDEV website and in Open challenge competitors are can come up with their own problems.
2.  Pitching Sessions are call from district wise
• 5min for each team to present before judges.
• 3min for pitching and 2min for asking questions by judges
3.  Selected teams are call for the Social Innovation Camps
• In 2019, 3 camps were held at Jetwing Hotels in Dambulla ,Jaffna and Negambo.
• Camp is 5 days Duration with free Accommodation and Meals
• Those 5 days helps to get a large amount of knowledge on how to build your idea in real.
• Social Volunteers and two foreign facilitators helps to sharpen your knowledge.
4.  Selected teams are asked to for the pre-incubation program
• 2 days duration
• Accommodation and meals are provided
• Developers, lawyers, Project Managers come and share their knowledge
• Discuss more on Business Canvas Model
• Teams can get clear idea about the flow of their business.
5.  Final 9 teams are call for the Incubation period of 6 months
•  Teams starts their business and the initial funds are provided by the nominated company for them.
